Power of Prayer
When we talk about the effectiveness of intercession prayers, we speak from our own experience. In 2001, I was diagnosed for hyperthyroidism. I immediately started taking medicine for it, I was told by the Dr. that hyperthyroidism is a type of sickness that one lives with for the rest of his/her life. I was also told that I would not have any more children. I did not want to settle for less. I sought God through prayers. Today, I am a living testimony that I am completely healed. Not only that God healed me through the intercession prayer of this ministry, but also had two more children afterwards. James 5:16 NKJV “…The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much”.
God’s power is working in our Lives.
My name is Royna and I am a school psychologist by career and
God has blessed me with four children. My children are a testimony to the power of God through prayer. Hannah’s story in the Bible is also my
story. I was barren over seven years
and God answered my prayer and opened my womb to have children.
God has also done other miracles in my life, such as saving my life in two car accidents in my early twenties. Once, I had fallen asleep at the wheel and when I woke up I was in the path of a semi-truck coming at me on the wrong side of the highway. I quickly turned the wheel and the next thing I knew I was on the right side of the high way on the shoulder of the road. I know God protected me and literally placed me on the right side of the road. Another time, I was driving in the rain and God prevented my vehicle from flipping over on the road after my vehicle lost traction. I was driving around a curve and the vehicle landed on its side and I was able to safely climb out.
I was blessed with employment in Dayton in 2013, which enabled my children to go to Christian school. That was another answer to prayer. I later met Tabitha and she became my friend. She invited me to become a part of the ministry. I decided to become a volunteer with D.I.M. because I want to do God's work and help people. God says that we are to help others and be the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13). I wanted to partner with a ministry that loves people and has a burden for souls. Our heavenly Father blesses us, so that we can bless others and also share the good news of Jesus Christ. This ministry does exactly that.
Although we live in a culture and society that is materialistic and selfish, we are called to not be like the world. We should never get too comfortable with our surroundings and privileges that we forget to help others. We can experience much joy and blessings through service to others.
Lastly, I am a witness that D.I.M. is a dynamic and effective ministry. My relationship with God has been strengthened by coming to the meetings. There are so many testimonies of answered prayer of God’s power working in our lives. It reminds me of the scripture Psalms 34:8 Taste and see that the LORD is good! Come and be encouraged!
