Florence Uwimana

Bio

My name is Florence Uwimana. I am married with three children. I was born and raised in Christian family in Rwanda.  I built a personal relationship with Jesus since early age. It has always been my desire to serve Jesus with all my heart and love my neighbor as myself. I started serving when I was in high school through my church in Rwanda. We used to visit patients in hospital and support them spiritually and financially.  Since that time I developed a strong desire for helping people.

I moved to the United States in 2007. I did not have any family or friends. I missed my family but mostly my prayer group. I was lonely and afraid of the future. I prayed to God to bring people that we can pray together. One day, someone introduced me to DIM. I was very happy to be able to worship God in my native language. I was not only attracted by the effectiveness of this ministry prayer, but it also immediately became my family. I thank God that I have found a place to continue to serve him.

Meeting DIM helped me grow spiritually tremendously. The ministry taught me how to rely on God and put my trust in Him. I learned a lot from watching the ministry leader Esther in areas of humility and keen to be tuned to the leading of the Holy Spirit. She is a type of shepherd who sacrifices herself for others in many ways. I can testify that she leads by example.

The ministry has not only feed me spiritually but also materially. DIM helped me pay for my school fees. I am not the only one who has benefited from this ministry in tangible ways. Besides the school fees the ministry has been paying for children in Kenya and Rwanda, I have also witnessed how DIM has provided a local shelter to a single mother with three children for six months. In addition to those outreach activities, this ministry’s prayers are very effective. I have witnessed many miracles in this ministry in areas of healing from depression, chronic back pain, just to name a few. As the saying goes, “where there is a will, there is a way”, such is the case for DIM. This ministry may not have much per say, but it is very effective in prayers and has touched many lives spiritually and materially.
